Welcome to DealsAndBobs – a community where people share and vote on the best deals in the UK. These terms explain the rules for using the site. By creating an account or posting on DealsAndBobs, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

DealsAndBobs is operated by , a company registered in (company number ), registered office: . In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company.

2. Your account

• You must be at least years old to create an account.
• Give us a real email address that you control. Keep your password private – you are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person, one account. Creating extra accounts to vote on your own deals or to get around a suspension is not allowed.
• You can delete your account at any time from My account. Deleting your account also removes the deals and comments you posted.

3. Community rules

DealsAndBobs works because members are honest and respectful. When you use the site, you must not:

• post anything illegal, or link to illegal goods or services – for example counterfeit or stolen goods, pirated software, films or games, weapons, drugs, or fraud;
• post content that is abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful or discriminatory, or that encourages violence or self-harm;
• post sexual content, or anything that could put a child at risk;
• post spam, scams, phishing links, or deals you know are fake or misleading;
• advertise your own business or earn money from a deal without clearly saying so (for example, using your own referral or affiliate link without declaring it);
• manipulate votes – for example with multiple accounts or by asking others to vote in exchange for something;
• share other people's personal information (such as addresses or phone numbers) without their permission;
• impersonate another person, brand or member of our team;
• try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the site.

4. Posting deals

• Only post genuine deals that are available when you post them, with the correct price and a link to where people can buy.
• Say if there are conditions – for example a voucher code, membership, minimum spend or delivery charge.
• If you work for, or are paid by, the retailer or brand, you must say so in the description.
• You can edit or delete your own deals and comments at any time.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to display, store, copy and share it on DealsAndBobs (including in search results and on social media that promotes the site) for as long as it remains on the site. You confirm that you have the right to post it – for example that you are not copying someone else's photos or text without permission.

6. How we protect you from illegal content

As a service where users share content, we have duties under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. Here is how we meet them:

• Rules: the community rules above ban illegal content and other harmful behaviour.
• Reporting: anyone can tell us about content they think is illegal or breaks our rules (see Reporting content).
• Swift removal: when we become aware of illegal content, we remove it as quickly as we can.
• Enforcement: we can suspend accounts that break these rules.
• Limits on posting: each account can only post a limited number of deals, comments and reports per day, which slows down spam.
• Checks before publishing: a new member's first deal, and deals that link to a shop we don't know yet, are checked by a moderator before they appear on the site.
• Safe links: we don't accept shortened or disguised links (for example links hidden behind bit.ly or web addresses using look-alike characters), and deal images can only come from shops' own websites.
• Human review: the checks above only decide whether a post waits for a moderator. Every decision to publish, remove or suspend is made by a person. We do not use automated technology to scan the content of posts.

7. Reporting content

If you see something that is illegal or breaks our rules:

• If you have an account: use the ⚑ Report button on the deal or comment and choose a reason.
• If you don't have an account (for example, you are a brand, rights holder or member of the public): email with a link to the content, what the problem is, and how we can contact you. See our contact page.

Moderators review every report. If content is illegal or breaks our rules, we remove it and may take action against the account that posted it. Reports of scams or illegal content are treated as urgent and we aim to deal with them within 24 hours. We aim to review all other reports within 2 working days. We may not be able to tell you the outcome of every report, but we record every decision.

8. Moderation and account suspension

• We can edit (for example to correct a price or remove personal information), hide or remove any content that breaks these rules or the law.
• We can suspend an account that breaks these rules – for example for spam, abuse or repeated misleading deals. A suspended member can still read the site, but cannot post, comment, vote or report. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to a permanent suspension.
• Removed content stays hidden from the site. We keep a record of it for a limited time so we can deal with complaints and legal requests (see our Privacy Policy).

9. Complaints and appeals

You can complain to us if you think:

• we removed your content or suspended your account by mistake (an appeal);
• we did not act on content you reported, or took too long;
• we are not following these terms or our online safety duties.

Email with the subject "Complaint", your username (if you have one), and what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint, look at it again – where possible using a different moderator – and tell you the outcome. If we find we made a mistake, we will restore your content or account. Complaints about how we use your personal data are covered in our Privacy Policy.

10. How we make money

DealsAndBobs is free to use. Some links to retailers may be affiliate links: if you click one and buy something, the retailer or an affiliate network (such as Amazon Associates or Awin) may pay us a commission. This never costs you anything extra.

Affiliate links are labelled "Ad · affiliate link" next to the Get deal button. Commission never affects which deals appear or how hot they are – that is decided by our members' votes.

11. About the deals on our site

Deals are posted by members of the public. We are not the seller of anything on the site – when you buy, your contract is with the retailer, and their terms apply. Prices and availability change quickly, so always check the details on the retailer's website before you buy. We do not guarantee that a deal is accurate, available or suitable for you.

12. Our liability

We provide the site "as is" and cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We are not responsible for content posted by members or for websites we link to. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.

13. Changes and general terms

• We may update these terms. If we make important changes, we will tell members on the site before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
• If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
• These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
